Holly Valance is an Australian actress and recording artist. While working as a model, Holly Valance was discovered and offered to join the cast of the Australia’s longest-running soap, “Neighbours.” After three years in the show and a Logie Award nomination, Holly Valance left the show to try her luck with a music career.
In 2002, the same year she left “Neighbours,” Holly Valance released her first single entitled “Kiss Kiss”, a Turkish cover by the artist Tarkan. Her single made it to the top of the charts in both the UK Singles chart and Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), and stayed at the top for weeks. When she released her first album that same year, it reached the top 50 in Australia and the UK. For her work as a recording artist, Holly Valance was nominated with four awards at the ARIA, which included categories in the “Breakthrough Artist,” “Best Female Artist,” “Highest Selling Single” and “Best Pop Release.” Holly also won a “Best Single” award at the Disney Channel Kids Awards.
After releasing her second album called “State of Mind,” Valance went back to acting, but moved to Hollywood for greater opportunities. In 2004, she appeared in the television series “CSI: Miami” and in one of the episodes of “CSI: New York” the following year. In 2006, Holly Valance appeared as a guest star in the series “Prison Break” portraying the character Nika Volek, which she still played until the second season of the series. Other films Holly Valance appeared in include Paris Hilton’s film, “Pledge This!” and the video game adaptation, “D.O.A. Dead or Alive.”
By 2007, Holly Valance has made a name for herself in Hollywood and has been appeared in various TV shows, such as “Shark,” “Moonlight” and “Valentine.” She also appeared in the 2008 film “Taken” alongside Liam Neeson and has lent her voice to the video game “Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising.”
